Navigation: Using a Map & Compass

A question I get all the time is “why do I need to learn wilderness survival skills?” The short answer is because learning these techniques teaches you the basics of survival.
If you learn how to navigate using a topographic map and use a compass you gain a better understanding of how to navigate any environment, urban and rural.
Navigation involves more than just traveling in the wilderness, these skills will also be useful in an urban bugging in or bugging out situation.
